  • adidas Originals NMD Blackout/Whiteout pack

The adidas Originals NMD Blackout/Whiteout pack releases with us July 8th.

While drawing inspiration from archival styles is nothing new to the world of sneaker design adidas Originals really struck a chord when they introduced a modern classic - the NMD silhouette.

What the adidas Originals NMD range has done so much better than anyone else is evolve.

The initial release presented a sneaker that drew inspiration from the most progressive archival silhouettes that comprise their cutting-edge and influential back-catalog and infused their DNA with adidas' modern day BOOST and Primeknit technology, offering something that was top of the league in terms of technology but also had a distinct aesthetic that oozed classic adidas nostalgia.

Where most brands would stop there, adidas Originals continued to evolve the NMD with the introudction of the 'City Sock' and 'Chukka' silhouettes that maintained elements of the original release but took it in aesthetic directions that essentially ensured there was an NMD style for everyone.

On July 8th we see the newest addition to the adidas Originals NMD catalogue with the monochromatic 'Blackout/Whiteout' pack - a Crisp, concise and true to form release.

Comprising both the NMD Runner and NMD City Sock silhouette, each shoe in the release features a cleanly executed black or white colour palette with multi-lingual printed details throughout.

Signature details such as the NMD Runner’s TPU heel unit, the NMD City Sock’s panel tape and the NMD’s signature EVA plug inserts are rendered in tonal colours, finished with the shoe’s essential BOOST sole unit.

The adidas Originals NMD Blackout/Whiteout pack releases July 8th online.

  • Consortium Presents Bournemouth Broadcast by Gian Calipa

it's no secret that Bournemouth is largely regarded as a town where the elderly go to retire, a place with more trees than you can count and where you most likely will leave to search for some kind of career in London by the age of 25.

One thing that Bournemouth does posses however is a healthy growing skate scene with multiple cliques made of older OG's and a load of young rippers that can usually be found in any of the relatively okay skateparks surrounding our small seaside town.

Bournemouth BroadcastGeorge Clifton Wallride Nollie by Matt Trapp

Consortium was established in 1993 as an independent skate shop and we are proud to still be here with a bricks and mortar store that holds pretty much everything you would ever need in your skateboarding life supporting the scene and helping it in any way we can. Our close friend and VX1 lens master Gian Calipa has spent the last few months documenting and piecing together the first of many videos entitled Bournemouth Broadcast in conjunction with Consortium showcasing both old and new spots that we have been blessed with due to the increasing re-development of the Bournemouth town area.

    Bournemouth Broadcast
Jamie Platt eats his knees with a Front 180 ft. lens-master Gian by Scandar Silva-Payne

Clocking in at just over six minutes the video is just the right length to watch without feeling the need to click the plethora of other web clips that are unleashed into the internet daily. This is also Gian's first edit in quite a while due to an unfortunate injury whilst exploring Europe on a skateboard mission last year, he is however on the mend so it shouldn't be too long before we see a second instalment in the Bournemouth Broadcast series.

The video features too many names to mention however here is a top 5 of notably great clips:

    1. 1:59 Curtis Howkins bigspin heelflip - whip it, whip it good.

    2. 2:30 - Jamie Platt f/s 180 over a pole - un-human levels of height are achieved.

    3. 3:47 - Bun Jordan shove-it flip - spot merkage complete.

    4. 4:56 - George Clifton wallride nollie - who did it better, Pontus or George? You decide.

    5. 5:43 - Sammy Mould beanplant blunt - this is nuts, speed and finesse coming in hot.

Check the clip below and follow Consortium and Gian for updates on the Bournemouth Broadcast series.

  • Nike SB X Skate Mental Zoom Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza

The Nike SB X Skate Mental Zoom Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza releases tomorrow June 17th at 8am.

It's no secret that when you combine dough, tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni then bake for 20 minutes you end up with every skateboarder ever's favourite snack - pizza. We see skateboard mainstays Nike SB team up with Skate Mental to combine the delicious meal with the now classic Janoski silhouette for a Nike SB X Skate Mental Zoom Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza skate shoe.

    Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza

    Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza

Skate Mental have always stood out for their dis-regard to the conventional approach of running a skateboard company, never taking themselves too seriously and always looking like they're having fun. The Nike SB X Skate Mental Zoom Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza is no exception to this with a vibrant Pepperoni fabric covering the entire shoe with nods to its Italian heritage lin the form of red and green stitching on the tongue label.

Although the Nike SB X Skate Mental Zoom Stefan Janoski Pepperoni Pizza isn't for everyone its nice to see Nike SB keeping things fun and letting Brad Staba do his thing, definitely not understated and probably the most pizza-ey skateboard related product we've ever seen. Often when shoe collaborations happen with skateboard companies the identity of the counter-part doesn't really shine through, however this can't be said about this which is 1000% Skate Mental from each drip of melted cheese to the crispy pepperoni topping.

    adidas Originals Gazelle

    adidas Originals Gazelle

The much loved Gazelle silhouette has seen many renditions over the years and adidas Originals chose the two-decade old version for their latest throwback release with some subtle changes to the current Gazelle options that for us at least offer a prime example of classic, timeless design. the easy to wear trainer is even a favourite of Brit heart-throb Kate Moss if you need any further convincing.

The adidas Originals Gazelle Perfect truly is an exceptional adidas silhouette executed with perfect simplicity - 3 white serrated stipes, a White moulded tre-foil branded tongue, White heel moustache and a White midsole sitting in contrast to the varying suede adorned uppers.

Nike SB have become synonymous with going all in when they offer premium special edition sneaker updates often using colour combinations and intricate detailing that on paper may seem a little too much.

The Nike SB Dunk High Premium Raw Meat however is much like the excellent previous Dunk Premium silhouette colourways and is pulled off to perfection with a 'Raw Meat' inspired all-over print adorning the upper.

Nike SB Dunk High Premium Raw Meat

  • adidas Originals X Palace Skateboards

The newest adidas Originals X Palace Skateboards collection launches tonight at midnight.

We see the most recent instalment from the two influential brands continuing on from the hugely successful previous collaborations.

After flirting with other sportswear main-stays such as Umbro and Reebok London skateboard power-house Palace Skateboards seem to have found their collaborative sportswear home with adidas Originals continuing the joint collection into the Summer season.

    adidas Originals X Palace Skateboards

Its nice to see the collections taking on a theme, previously opting for a largely fleece dominated effort whilst now we see a holiday ready towelling fabrication adorn the archival influenced silhouettes.

The fine Navy coloured towelling is seen on the Towel Hat, Gymsack which features some cleanly executed tonal embroidery, the Towel Jacket that is truly Tony Soprano worthy and of course no towelling collection would be complete without, well, a towel...

The collection as a whole consists of a mix of Blue tones with White accents to add some contrast to the pieces and the recurring towelling fabrication makes an appearance on the 3-stripe branding. It truly wouldn't be an adidas Originals X Palace Skateboards collection without the inclusion of a full Black tracksuit just for good measure.

If you're not spending the summer in a tropic location then don't worry, adidas Originals and Palace have you covered with a hooded shell jacket that will keep you dry during the ever-approaching drizzly British Summer, which just happens to have the classic over-sized Palace Tri-Ferg graphic emblazoned on the back - at least you will look on trend when you're standing under a tree in the park staring at your increasingly water-filled Barbecue.

Rounding of the collection is two new colourways in the ever-popular Palace Pro silhouette, the easy to wear style that is perfect for the warmer season with multiple perforations and a comfy removable PU sock liner. The uppers are executed in pig suede which all the skate heads will be pleased to hear alongside a skate friendly vulcanized sole unit, the translucent gum sole is a nice touch on the Black/Orange colourway too.

The adidas Originals X Palace Skateboards collection launches online tonight at midnight and in-store from 9am tomorrow.

  • Nike Sock Dart SE

The Nike Sock Dart SE has dropped in a duo of new colourways today Friday 20th May 2016.

The avant-guard Nike Sock Dart silhouette returns to our shelves in two new colourways. We see a vibrant Racer Blue/Racer Blue-White adorn the ultra comfy knitted upper which the shoe has gained notoriety for, almost everyone that enters our store and tries on a pair are won over by the sheer comfort and fit of the silhouette - most likely the reason that the Nike Sock Dart has gone from strength to strength with every release.

    Nike Sock Dart

    Nike Sock Dart

The second offering is an eye popping Total Crimson/Black-White colourway that may be too vivid for some, however will surely strike a cord with sneaker heads that are looking for a truly stand-out pair for the summer months.

    Nike Sock Dart

    Nike Sock Dart

    Nike Sock Dart

Aswell as these colourful Summer options the silhouette is laden with a slew of details to ensure comfort including the Loose weave knit for superior ventilation, the translucent perforated fastening strap for complete control of the fit and full length Phylon moulded midsole with Swoosh branding with a continued speckle sole from the previous Nike Sock Dart release. The signature toe-bumper features here too executed in tonal colours to match the upper.

  • Nike Mayfly Woven

The Nike Mayfly Woven releases in three colourways tomorrow Thursday 19th May 2016.

The original Nike Mayfly silhouette is one of Nike's most well considered conceptual running shoes to date. Building upon the life cycle of the Mayfly which lives, breeds and dies all in one day, the shoe was engineered to last for 100KM of running before it would start to fall apart.

    Nike Mayfly Woven

    Nike Mayfly Woven

    Nike Mayfly Woven

In 2012 Nike updated the silhouette with a premium woven construction that was met with an extremely warm reception due to its perfect mix of traditional Mayfly aesthetics and smart dress-styled detailing making it a hit with young sneaker heads and the slightly older consumer looking for something a bit more sophisticated.

We see three colourways adorn the re-imagined runner with the Bronze/Black-Summit White and Black/Black-Summit White renditions receiving some minor aesthetic tweaks for a re-introduction from their Quickstrike release in 2013 whilst we see the introduction of a Tumbled Grey/Anthracite-Summit White colourway which offers contrast leather heel detailing.

    Nike Mayfly Woven

    Nike Mayfly Woven

The Nike Mayfly Woven comes just in time for summer and lends itself perfectly to the warmer months with its loosely woven detailing stretching across the entire length of the upper and multiple perforations applied down from the tongue to the supportive toe-box panelling.

The sole stays true to the OG with a full length clean white Phylon Midsole and contrast hits of Black on the diamond shaped tread applied on the toe and heel areas for calculated durability and effective traction.

    Nike Mayfly Woven

The Nike Mayfly Woven releases tomorrow at 8am online and from 9am in-store.

    adidas Skateboarding X Welcome

All of the above sit on the signature shaped midsole carried out in a complimentary Granite colour whilst we see hits of light grey in the moulded side Swoosh, laces, heel-loop and Tongue patch accents.

    adidas Skateboarding X Welcome

The Nike Air Presto Premium 'Denim' is finished off with a Gum coloured outsole which is a nice touch breaking up the otherwise muted colour scheme

    Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra

Alongside the Nike Air Presto Premium 'Denim' we see a trio of colourways in the newly introduced Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra silhouette.

Continuing from the Racer Blue/Racer Blue-White colourway that graced our shelves last week we now see 2 monochrome styles release with a more out there Black/Yellow Streak-Metallic Gold colourway which looks a little truer to the OG styling of the Air Presto that we love so much with a mix-match of colours covering the shoe.

The two monochrome styles feature the progressive Nike Flyknit application on the upper offering unrivalled comfort, we see an super clean approach with an all white tonal White/White-White-Total Crimson colourway whilst the Black/Black-White-Electric Green style breaks up the block colour with a contrast white full length phylon midsole.

    adidas Skateboarding X Welcome
Both pairs offer subtle hits of vibrancy with an Electric Green and Total Crimson insole.

    adidas Skateboarding X Welcome

Finishing off the drop is the Black/Yellow Streak-Metallic Gold colourway that is reminiscent of the obscure colour combinations that were synonymous with the Air Presto silhouette upon its introduction.
