In 1941 Nathan Clark was sent to Burma as part of the Royal Army Service Corps during the second world war. Clark noticed whilst serving that these desert veterans (nicknamed the desert rats) wore curious suede crepe soled ankle boots, Clark realised that this shoe would be a perfect leisure shoe back home. Clarks Originals takes classic footwear styles from Clarks' extensive back catalogue, produces shoes & boots in premium materials including the original desert boot and the wallabee.
