Consortium Presents Bournemouth Broadcast by Gian Calipa

it's no secret that Bournemouth is largely regarded as a town where the elderly go to retire, a place with more trees than you can count and where you most likely will leave to search for some kind of career in London by the age of 25.

One thing that Bournemouth does posses however is a healthy growing skate scene with multiple cliques made of older OG's and a load of young rippers that can usually be found in any of the relatively okay skateparks surrounding our small seaside town.

Consortium was established in 1993 as an independent skate shop and we are proud to still be here with a bricks and mortar store that holds pretty much everything you would ever need in your skateboarding life supporting the scene and helping it in any way we can. Our close friend and VX1 lens master Gian Calipa has spent the last few months documenting and piecing together the first of many videos entitled Bournemouth Broadcast in conjunction with Consortium showcasing both old and new spots that we have been blessed with due to the increasing re-development of the Bournemouth town area.

Jamie Platt eats his knees with a Front 180 ft. lens-master Gian by Scandar Silva-Payne

Clocking in at just over six minutes the video is just the right length to watch without feeling the need to click the plethora of other web clips that are unleashed into the internet daily. This is also Gian's first edit in quite a while due to an unfortunate injury whilst exploring Europe on a skateboard mission last year, he is however on the mend so it shouldn't be too long before we see a second instalment in the Bournemouth Broadcast series.

The video features too many names to mention however here is a top 5 of notably great clips:

1. 1:59 Curtis Howkins bigspin heelflip - whip it, whip it good.

2. 2:30 - Jamie Platt f/s 180 over a pole - un-human levels of height are achieved.

3. 3:47 - Bun Jordan shove-it flip - spot merkage complete.

4. 4:56 - George Clifton wallride nollie - who did it better, Pontus or George? You decide.

5. 5:43 - Sammy Mould beanplant blunt - this is nuts, speed and finesse coming in hot.

Check the clip below and follow Consortium and Gian for updates on the Bournemouth Broadcast series.
