Nike
Nike began life as ‘Blue Ribbon Sports’, an idea formed by Phil Knight to compete with the German market that had flooded America’s sports stores. Knight was convinced the best way to do this was to import the Onitsuka brand from japan, so Knight sealed an appointment with Onitsuka and was soon importing the shoes to the US. 1971 saw Blue Ribbon Sports launch their own range of footwear named ‘Nike’ after the greek goddess of victory. Nike is now one of the biggest shoe brands in the world and the Swoosh is one of the most recognised symbols - a testament to their quality and style. Offering a huge range of sport specific footwear as well as a huge selection of vintage and fashion based styles.
