In 2013, Cubitts was founded on Cubitt Street in King's Cross, London where it was aptly named after the victorian architectural engineers, the Cubitt Brothers who helped revolutionise the British engineering industry. One of the brothers, Lewis Cubitt's structural rivets are the same ‘butterfly’ rivets the connect the front and sides of the English brand's acetate frames. Cubitts combines the art of traditional techniques with the help of modern technologies, to produce frames for a classic look and comfortable living. Following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking masterminds, Cubitts pays homage to its British heritage and aims to relentlessly improve, to streamline, and to adapt their glasses to have a timeless design, with an emphasis on a classic, contemporary aesthetic.
