    Nike SB Eric Koston 1 (Black/Dark Grey-Chambray)

Nike SB Eric Koston 1 (Sport Red/Tourmaline)

Here's the official Nike press release -

A 20-year career, a dozen signature shoe models, and numerous legendary video parts have established Eric Koston as the gold standard in skateboarding. He has pushed not only the progression of modern street skating, but skate footwear design as well. Nike Skateboarding continues that tradition and is proud to announce the global release of the Nike SB Eric Koston, Eric’s first signature shoe with Nike, on June 4th, 2011.

Upon joining Nike SB in 2009, Eric had this to say about his involvement with the brand: "A lot of different Nike's have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a kid in a candy store when it comes to my partnership with Nike."

Eric immediately began working with SB designers to update the Dunk Pro SB and also worked on our most innovative and lightest shoe to date, the Zoom FP. Taking insights from both these projects, Eric and Nike Skateboarding footwear designer Shawn Carboy began developing the Nike SB Eric Koston.

From the start, Eric wanted to marry a timeless cupsole silhouette with a lightweight insole featuring superior cushioning. From this, the Lunarlon sockliner/midsole was born. Lunar foam is a recent cushioning innovation in Nike performance footwear, but the Nike SB Eric Koston is the first shoe in the Nike Action family to incorporate the technology. Having a combo Lunarlon sockliner/midsole makes for a skate shoe that is lightweight with a soft yet responsive full-foot cushion, protecting your feet from impact but not dampening board feel.

The shoe also features TPU reinforced suede, stitchless lining construction to minimize toe blow-outs, a neoprene collar offering supreme comfort for the ankle, and Lo Ride construction that gives you vulc-like board feel with the stability of cupsole construction.

In addition to the three launch colors available on June 4th, a limited quantity of the Nike SB Eric Koston Premium (featuring an embossed suede with snake skin pattern inspired by the Kobe VI) will be available at SB dealers worldwide on July 1, 2011.

To kick off the shoe's release we've created a tour video featuring Eric and his Nike SB teammates on the road while Eric was shooting ads for the Nike SB Eric Koston campaign. It features cameos from Nike athletes Kobe Bryant and Paul Casey and actor Michael Pena. The video and all three launch colorways of the Nike SB Eric Koston can be seen at:

  • Nike SB Janoski Mid

The wait is finally over and the eagerly anticipated first colourway (Black/White) of Sefan Janoski's mid top skate shoe is now available both in store and online at consortium.

We were first presented with the sample of the Janoski Mid some six or so months ago and we felt back then, as we do now, that the shoe really compliments the Janoski's styling. The Janoski works well as a mid and the update carries the same silhouette as the low with just a little more added to the cuff, realistically if you're wearing them with a pair of jeans or chinos at first glance nobody will spot the difference.

From a skate perspective the Janoski Mid offers all the same functionality as the low, with a vulcanized sole giving both superb grip and board feel and Nike 'Zoom' air in the innersole for impact cushioning, but the mid also offers some ankle protection.

Look out for the Nike SB Stefan Janoski Mid in Cappuccino/Black which is due to drop around 20th April 2011 and then the launch of the Nike SB Eric Koston available in three different colour options around 20th May 2011.

Nike SB have this week released the all new Nike Dunk Pro SB with an in-store only low top in a Bison/Varsity Purple colourway designed by Theotis Beasley.

The Dunk originally debuted as a basketball shoe way back in 1985 but was quickly adopted by skateboarders as it's construction and materials perfectly suited their needs.

The Dunk, without doubt, has become one of the most iconic and influential skate shoes of all time and it was no wonder that the style became the cornerstone of the Nike SB range when launched back in 2002.

So to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the SB Dunk, Nike's athletes and design team have scrutinised the shoe and completely revamped it to add comfort, support and withstand the rigours of modern day skateboarding.

The shoe's silhouette hasn't changed and at a casual glance, the Dunk appears the same. However under closer examination (and once it's on your foot) the updates become more apparent...

THE UPPER - features a simple but effective hidden lace system offering lace protection, and a turn and stitch toe that adds durability.

A REDESIGNED OUTSOLE - offers more grip and the cupsole has been cored out (reducing weight and bringing the foot lower to the board). A 'Phylon' midsole has replaced the original EVA wedge and it's light, flexible and offers more cushioning.

INTERNALLY - seams near the toe have been moved to eliminate pressure points and heel lining pods have been added to enhance the fit and prevent heel slippage.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Premium in Bison/Varsity Purple is available (in limited numbers) from our Bournemouth store.
