Folk was founded in 2001 by Cathal McAteer, with his experience working for brands such as YMC and Nicole Farhi he applied both brands' clean and simple approach to that of his own. Folk was formed from the idea of creating simple everyday clothing with subtle and playful detailing - the design goes over and above that of other brands creating their own fabrics, trims and design details that reflect the idea of easy to wear interesting garments.
