HUF X Obey Collaboration

Today sees the release of the much anticipated HUF X Obey collaboration.

It's quite obvious when looking at the roots of both brands and the status that they have achieved from simply doing things their own way why the two have come together for a concise collection of soft goods.

The two brands (and two people behind them) share a very similar ethos and resulting rise to popularity but in parallel creative areas, HUF founder Keith Hufnagel is a legend in his own right known for his natural fluid style and insane pop and started HUF originally as a shop.

From the humble beginnings of making shop tee's Hufnagel's interest in streetwear and sneakers developed to a point where he eventually was ready to start his namesake clothing label HUF and later go on to start one of the few successful independent footwear brands HUF Footwear.

Obey owner Shepard Fairey epitomises the 'Do It Yourself' mentality originally that is a natural part of graff culture, but chose to take a more conceptual approach with wheat pasted posters and stickers featuring the now legendary 'Andre the Giant' emblem.

Naturally this progressed to making t-shirts and as his level of notoriety grew so did his artistic output resulting in the inspiring Obey clothing imprint that still manages to stay artistically true to Shepard's original intents whilst his artwork has gone on to superior heights-being exhibited around the world and now producing works that are wall-like in size.

We're stoked to have the collaboration on our shelves and its good to see two people who are completely self-made stay true to how they got where they are and be able to celebrate both creative masterminds with one collection.
