1932 saw Max Gitman leave New York and move to Ashland, Pennsylvania and set up the Ashland Shirt & Pajama Company, he ran the factory under that name with his sons until 1978 when it changed to Gitman Bro’s. Gitman Vintage is a division of Gitman Bro’s that incorporates the company history and style, creating archival pieces and reincarnating lost fabrics and silhouettes. Gitman Bro’s are one of the last true American made shirt companies with all manufacturing still based in the united states.
