Like a mighty phoenix rising from the ashes, Vans Skateboarding introduces their revolutionary Skate Classics, iconic Vans silhouettes re-engineered for modern skateboarding with enhanced technology and durable materials. Without risking their legendary aesthetic, the Vans Skate Classics shoes are developed from the previous Pro Classics, built from the ground up with progressive tech features to perform under skateboarding’s strenuous demands whilst ultimately still feeling like a Vans skate shoe. The first iteration of the Skate Classics is the Blackout pack exclusive for core skate shops which is comprised of their renowned styles, including an Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Slip-on, Era and Authentic.
Distinguished by their subtle yet recognisable checkerboard flag and new Vans Skateboarding heel tab, the Vans Skate Classics provides skaters with intuitive technology while continuing to honour their skateboarding heritage. The upper pattern and heel counter have been fully modified to help improve skaters fit and comfort, new tongue-straps that help keep the tongue in place, and a revised DURACAP underlay that is more breathable but still retaining the durability where skaters need it the most.
Vans has also manufactured a tougher, updated toe knurl pattern and two-part foxing for better grip and enhanced resilience. The Skate Classics continue to impress with a redesigned gum rubber sole that is comprised of their SickStick rubber formula for better grip and POPCUSH sockliners for improved cushioning and impact protection. All these technologies help improve boardfeel and ultimately help the shoes last longer while retaining Vans’ influential style and upholding their skateboarding legacy.
