The Surf is Dead Stranger Waves Summer '17 collection is available with us in-store now.
Hailing from Los Angeles the fledging brand build on the underground surf culture of Los Angeles, we see the Surf is Dead Stranger Waves collection "dive deeper into a lurid reflection of an enclave self obsessed with expressing an unenlightened and quietus need to exist."
This is the first time we've had the brand in-store and were all stoked to have their graphic offerings available, the Surf is Dead Stranger Waves collection utilises a playful palette of summery colours juxtaposed against some much grittier graphics - the kind of gear you can get away with wearing because your mum likes the pretty colours and doesn't realise she bought you a shirt with a half naked babe on it, you know?
Most of the brands direction comes from this balance of light and dark, with most of the lo-fi styled graphics featuring some kind of macabre influence. It's refreshing to see such a young brand maintain the balance of playful tongue-in-cheek graphics with diverse colour options, a nice break from the monochrome tee offerings that are dominating at the moment.
