The Benny Gold Valencia Collection has dropped and is available now from both our online and Bournemouth stores.

Coming out of San Francisco’s Bay Area, the Benny Gold brand is headed up by Benny himself and run with a small team of creatives from their flagship store and design studio on 16th Street.

Benny Gold founded the brand back in 2007 when on a day off from his 9-5 he posted stickers around town. From those humble beginnings Benny Gold has grown into a globally recognised and well respected streetwear label.

Benny Gold has collaborated with, and designed artwork for, an impressive rosta of high profile brands including Adidas, JanSport, Medicom, Mighty Healthy, Nike, Real Skateboards, Stussy & Thunder Trucks (Benny is also the man responsible for the original Huf logo).

The Benny Gold Valencia Collection takes influences from the great outdoors & native American culture, with 5 panel caps featuring Native print peaks, alongside snapback caps & t-shirts with the infamous Benny Gold paper aeroplane logo cleverly transformed into a teepee.

Nike SB May Drop

The May 2012 drop from Nike SB brings fresh footwear colourways in the Janoski, Team Edition, Koston, Dunk Low, P-Rod 5, Vulc Rod & Salazar alongside a collaboration collection with Frank Kozik.

Frank Kozik started his career designing black and white flyers for friends bands back in the mid 1980′s and went on to design artwork for such notorious artists as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers & The Beastie Boys.

Frank Kozik pieces within the collection include a quickstrike Dunk High with a nod to the Alpha MA 1 jacket, and a handful of t-shirts featuring Frank Kozik graphic artwork.

Rockwell by Parra ‘Outside Sometimes Collection’

Following recent collaborations with G-Shock, Skate Mental & Stussy, Parra has just dropped the Rockwell ‘Outside Sometimes Collection’.

This Rockwell collection takes a break from their usual signature colour palate and instead works with muted tones throughout, using only white, grey, navy & black.

The quality is top notch as we’ve all come to expect, with custom made garments throughout and exceptional discharge prints on the t-shirts.

Mighty Healthy Spring 2012 collection available in store and online now.

This is our first offering from New York streetwear label Mighty Healthy and it includes a strong line of graphic t-shirts as well as collaboration pieces from both Diamond Supply Co. & Benny Gold (Benny Gold’s brand will soon also be available at consortium).

Mighty Healthy’s skate team is headed up by big time rippers Pete Eldridge, Gino Iannucci & Danny Montoya.

They also have some notorious superstar supporters including the likes of The Beatnuts, Cypress Hill, DJ Premier, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon.

Something For The Weekend ‘Butter N Fags’

Butter N Fags is the Something For The Weekend entry from Bournemouth rippers – Nicky Porter, Danny Bulmer, Craig Loveless & Todd Langdon.

If you haven’t heard of Something For Weekend, it’s an annual event hosted by Reskue skate shop now in it’s fifth year.

Teams of four skaters register (one of whom must be the main filmer), skate spots in the Southampton area over the designated weekend, get some footage, make an edit, and enter the edit into the comp.

Nike SB Stefan Janoski ‘Bonsai 420′

420 or the 20th April has become a US counterculture holiday, a day when friends come together to celebrate and smoke pot. Events are held and huge crowds gather and share their love of Mary Jane.

Each year with the direction of Todd Bratrud, Nike SB drop a shoe to tie in with the 420 tradition.

Last year it was the Cheech & Chong Dunk, with a hidden second layer green panel under the canvas toe box which became exposed when skated, and a matching green second pair of laces.

This year it’s Stefan Janoski’s pro shoe that gets the 420 treatment with a Bonsai 420 colourway (possibly inspired by the Hemp Dunk from back in 2004).

The Janoski Bonsai 420 is in a birch suede upper, with noble green stitched Swoosh & trim, and a noble green & birch tongue label. The upper is built on a light brown gum rubber vulcanized sole, with a light brown gum sidewall, and a noble green sidewall stripe. The shoes come with both noble green round laces & birch flat laces.

The Janoski Bonsai 420 shoe is an in store only colourway that is available at our Bournemouth store.

Limited Edition & Collectors Edition Oakley Frogskins

Fresh limited edition and collectors edition Oakley Frogskins colourways available instore and online now.

We have a very limited quantity from the Oakley Blacklight Series collectors edition, featuring blacklight reactive translucent colour pop frames made from Oakley’s lightweight and impact resistant O Matter material, with Oakley Plutonite lenses which are again super lightweight and impact resistant and offer maximum UVA & UVB protection along with superior clarity of vision.

There’s also a number of limited edition Spring/Summer 2012 colourways all with O Matter frames and Plutonite lenses, most with a glare reducing iridium lens coating, and a handful that are polarized.

All Oakley Frogskins come with a super soft case suitable to wipe the lenses without scratching them.

The Quiet Life Spring 2012

We’ve finally managed to get our spring ’12 drop from The Quiet Life up online.

The Quiet Life is a small project from Los Angeles headed up by Andy Mueller of Girl Skateboards.

Andy started The Quiet Life way back in 1997 with a few friends from his existing OhioGirl design studio and they’ve been producing quality garments on and off ever since.

Within the line there’s a handful of t-shirts from The Quiet Life Camera Club Series featuring the photography of The Quiet Life Camera Club members.

Membership to The Camera Club is open to anyone and members are able to submit their favourite photos for inclusion on The Quiet Life online photo gallery.

To date The Quiet Life have published two books full of photography from Camera Club members, as well as including t-shirts and other garments and accessories featuring members photos within their seasonal clothing collections.

12 Year Old Skateboarder Lands First 1080

Tom Schaar will go down in history as the first skateboarder to make a 1080, and at 12 years old that’s pretty good going!

The Element sponsored skater nailed the trick on his fifth attempt at the Woodward MegaRamp in Techachapi, California at 4.11 pm on Monday 26th March 2012.

Tom has been skateboarding for eight years (since he was just 4 years old) and has been mentored by Jeff Jewett, part owner of the MegaRamp, since he was nine.

For this record breaking attempt Jeff and the Woodward West camp teamed up with Red Bull to create a custom built rollover feature on the 70 foot tall MegaRamp that allowed Tom to drop in and maintain speed during his run, which resulted in the first ever successfully landed 1080 (three complete spins) on the 27 foot tall quarter pipe.
