Something For The Weekend ‘Butter N Fags’

Posted on April 10, 2012 in

Butter N Fags is the Something For The Weekend entry from Bournemouth rippers – Nicky Porter, Danny Bulmer, Craig Loveless & Todd Langdon.

If you haven’t heard of Something For Weekend, it’s an annual event hosted by Reskue skate shop now in it’s fifth year.

Teams of four skaters register (one of whom must be the main filmer), skate spots in the Southampton area over the designated weekend, get some footage, make an edit, and enter the edit into the comp.

Check the Butter N Fags edit and vote for the Bournemouth crew on the Reskue facebook page.

12 Year Old Skateboarder Lands First 1080

12 year old skateboarder lands first 1080

Tom Schaar will go down in history as the first skateboarder to make a 1080, and at 12 years old that’s pretty good going!

The Element sponsored skater nailed the trick on his fifth attempt at the Woodward MegaRamp in Techachapi, California at 4.11 pm on Monday 26th March 2012.

Tom has been skateboarding for eight years (since he was just 4 years old) and has been mentored by Jeff Jewett, part owner of the MegaRamp, since he was nine.

For this record breaking attempt Jeff and the Woodward West camp teamed up with Red Bull to create a custom built rollover feature on the 70 foot tall MegaRamp that allowed Tom to drop in and maintain speed during his run, which resulted in the first ever successfully landed 1080 (three complete spins) on the 27 foot tall quarter pipe.

Witchcraft and Lovenskate visit Consortium

Posted on August 29, 2010 in

We were really stoked on Wednesday when the Witchcraft and Lovenskate guys came into the store to say “Hi”.

They were due to skate Kings as part of their Evil vs Good tour but had been rained off. Thankfully Geordie was on hand to take them all up to the indoor mini at Fareham. All the guys had stayed at Geordie’s house the night before, which must have been interesting with ten on tour plus Geordie, his wife and the twins!

Not featured in the photo is Richard Gilligan who was behind the camera. Rich was the official tour photographer and has worked with many of the leading skateboard publications over the years. Rich is currently working on a documentary about Burnside! Check out Rich’s work.

As well as heading up Witchcraft, French was recently commissioned by industry heavy weights Vans with his artwork on product within their Spring 2011 line. French has just come back from Australia where he has been setting up a show featuring his artwork alongside the work of Murdoch Stafford. The show is titled ‘At First Light’ and is being hosted at Nine Lives Gallery in Brisbane. Check out French’s blog.

First release Witchcraft boards sold out in store within a couple of weeks and we’re all big fans. Keep an eye on the site for new Witchcraft product as soon as it drops.

Look closely at the photo and you’ll see an over excited builder with fists in the air. He’s working next door and just had to get in on the action…

Benny Fairfax At The Battle At The Berrics 2010

Posted on August 22, 2010 in

Local boy done good, Benny Fairfax, turned pro after coming runner up to Mike Mo Capaldi at the 2009 Battle At The Berrics. Last year Benny knocked out PJ Ladd in the semi finals to take his place in the final.

So this year we’ve all been eagerly anticipating the re-match between Benny and PJ in the second round of 2010 Battle At The Berrics which went live yesterday. BENNY FAIRFAX vs PJ LADD

Benny’s current board of choice seams to be his 7.75″ Bangers & Mash pro deck on Stereo, which is of course available at Consortium.

Go Benny!
